Job Details

Position: Automotive Production Operative

  • Location: Toyota Manufacturing UK, Burnaston Plant, Derby, England
  • Salary: £32,103 per year (£15.83 per hour, including shift premium)
  • Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Working Hours: 39 hours per week, rotating two-shift pattern
    • Early Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:18 PM
    • Late Shift: 3:20 PM – 11:38 PM
    • Note: A 15-minute pre-shift briefing is required.
  • Overtime: Available, including occasional weekends
    • Up to 45 minutes on early shifts, up to 2 hours on late shifts
    • Paid at a premium: Time and a third for the first two hours, time and a half thereafter

Pay Breakdown

  • Base Rate: £13.59 per hour
  • Shift Allowance:
    • Mornings: +£1.13 per hour
    • Lates: +£3.36 per hour
  • Annual Salary: £32,103 (including average shift premium)

What You’ll Do

As a Production Operative, you’ll play a key role in building the Toyota Corolla. You’ll work in one of the following areas:

  • Body Shop: Construct vehicle frames
  • Paint Shop: Apply high-quality finishes
  • Plastics Shop: Manufacture plastic components
  • Assembly Shop: Assemble vehicles
  • Business Revenue Centre: Refurbish used vehicles and fit accessories

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing processes to build vehicle components

  • Take ownership of improving your work process
